Localized Necking Model for Punching Fracture Simulation in Unstiffened and Stiffened Panels

The ductile fracture of thin-shell structures was studied here using a localized necking model. punching experiments for unstiffened and stiffened panels were compared with numerical predictions combined model shell elements. plasticity parameters JIS G3131 SPHC steel identified by performing calibration on standard flat bars, notched tension, central hole plane strain shear specimens. beyond the onset modeled Swift hardening law. damage indicator framework Hosford–Coulomb domain shell-to-solid equivalence (DSSE) adopted to characterize initiation. calibrated based loading paths initiation, which extracted from non-linear finite element (FE) analysis. presented HC–DSSE validated punch tests able predict initiation good accuracy.
